Voice of joy to first tree planting !
This school is located in an environment where the temperature difference is large; it goes up to 40℃ in summer and goes down to 8℃ in winter. In order to protect children from the severe sunshine, they chose fruit trees and tree species which can bear the cold in winter and planted them at the school.
At the beginning, the children didn’t show so much interest, but as we explained the objectives and significance of the CFP activities and how to carry them out through orientation meetings, the children noticed the difference from other classes, and the momentum for CFP increased. A child who planted trees gladly said: “I have planted mango trees for the first time in my life. I am going to carefully take care of them as my good friends.” Teachers are delighted because they can, not only plant trees, but also comprehensively study on the environment such as water sanitation and environmental pollution through practical activities and seminars. In 2018, they intend to continue planting trees and tackle enlightening activities by holding quiz contests, creating an environmental slogan and appealing on the street for forest conservation. We would like to set up a system in which the whole community supports the children’s activities for protecting nature.
