The activity in which everyone wants to participate
The Tuol Pen Primary school is a very small
school with only young pupils from grade 1-3. It is very hard to reach there in the rainy season because of the unpaved slippery rood and sticky soil. In the rainy season, sometimes pupils have no classes because their old
classroom’s roof leaks badly. They had a large ground but there were no tree and no shade which protect the children from the hot weather in dry season. That’s why they requested OISCA to start the CFP.
In 2017, they planted about 120 seedlings such as Albizia Lebbeck and Teak. Ms. Hin Kagna, 11 years old, grade 3, said “I am happy to see CFP volunteers to come to my school, teach us about the environment, and lead us to plant trees. I am always looking forward to the CFP volunteers’ coming”. This school has still some challenges such as seedlings being eaten by cows. So, not only pupils but also teachers and adults have to help taking care of the trees.
We will keep working together to solve those problems for getting good school environment
so that the children can enjoy studying comfortably.
